Jim passed Wed. morning at 11:05 AM after his fight against lung cancer. Jim was born and raised in Bremerton and received his GED in 1972 before going in the Army for 5 years. Jim worked at PSNS as a Shipfitter for several years until he incurred a back injury and started working at the PSNS Brach clinic. He had 31 years of service for the government and military.

Jim played billiards for the Kitsap County Pool League for over 30 years where he sat as President or Vice President for several years. He was also in the BCA (Billiards Congress of America) Pool League for the past 3.5 years.

Jim was survived by his wife, Rita Lauer; his son, Jimmy Lauer and Rebecca and their four children; his daughter Marlaina and Josh Atkins and their two children and one on the way; Jim's brother Joe Selburg and his wife Tudie — all of Port Orchard; and Jim's sister Margaret Werner of Aurora, CO
