Robert McConnell

Robert (Bob) W. McConnell, 67, Bremerton, died Dec 25, 2019 at home after battling pancreatic cancer.

Bob was born Mar 6, 1952 in Coronado, CA to Cecil and Mae (Wuethrick) McConnell. He graduated from West High School, Bremerton in 1971. In 1973, he enlisted in the US Navy and served aboard the USS Holland AS-32. He was honorably discharged in 1976.

Bob attended Olympic College, Bremerton and earned his ATA in data processing in 1978. He was then employed in the data processing department at the Naval Supply Center, Puget Sound (later named FISC) until his retirement as Supv Computer Spec in 2001.

After retirement, Bob delivered newspapers until being employed in 2006 as a school bus driver by Bremerton School District, where he worked until his death.

Bob was an avid war history buff, especially of the Civil War, and was an active member of his church, Abundant Life Foursquare, where he served as an usher.

Bob is survived by his mother; sisters Michele (Jim) Turowski and Pattie Maxon; nephews Ray (Kirstie) Turowski and Jason Turowski; niece Andrea (Sam) Overturf; 3 grandnieces and 1 grandnephew. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

A memorial service will be held Jan 18, 11:30 am, at Abundant Life Foursquare Church.
