(Pastor) Joan Mosser Goodwin

After high school I worked at Penneys in Bremerton for 3+ years and met my first husband, Doug DeFord (SK 69). After 20 years and 4 kids we called it quits and I married Dennis Goodwin-(Bellermine Prep 69)-15 days after my divorce was final. We live a quiet life in Port Orchard. I converted to the LDS faith in 2002.Best thing I ever did for myself. About 6 years ago I got a Papillion service dog named Precious.He is my best friend and we go everywhere together.I have a tendency towards bad vertigo attacks and he alerts me before they arrive. He is a very well behaved gentleman. Recently I became an ordained minister, something I have wanted for a long time. I look forward to being of assistance to those that request it. In the meantime, I have a lot to learn. Will do free ceremonies for WHS 71 alums!

When we graduated I felt I wasn't ready to go out into the world. I wanted badly to go back for another year (at least) for the sense of belonging to a group and take some of the classes I missed or could have done over and improved in. Even tho I wasn't popular I loved high school and have many very fond memories of that time. Life was so much simpler, we were content with less and we moved at a slower pace compared to now. Sometimes I wish we could go back and relive those times. I don't think a lot of us (including myself) realized how good it was.
